JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC ADDS A YOUTHFUL SHAPE TO THE CHEEKS
One of the latest offerings in dermal fillers is Juvederm Voluma XC, which is designed to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks. Formulated with a naturally occurring substance called hyaluronic acid, the smooth Voluma gel can be injected into the apex or apples of the cheeks to add structure and volume and “lift” sagging skin for a more youthful cheek shape and profile.
Thanks to its revolutionary Vycross technology, results with Voluma treatment can last up to two years.
RESTYLANE SILK PLUMPS THE LIPS, SMOOTHES LINES AROUND THE MOUTH
In addition to the cheeks, the lips can also experience age-related loss of volume. The makers of Restylane have developed a new product to enhance the lips, as well as to smooth wrinkles around the mouth. Last June, the FDA approved Restylane Silk, a hyaluronic acid-based gel that visibly improves lip fullness and minimizes lines and creases.
Results typically last about six months. Repeat treatment is recommended to maintain the effects.
ATX-101 WILL ELIMINATE DOUBLE CHINS
In March, an advisory panel at the FDA voted to approve a new injectable product to help reduce excess submental fat (i.e., fat in the space between the head and neck, often referred to as a “double chin”). Known as ATX-101, the product is derived from deoxycholic acid, which helps break down dietary fat. Upon injection, the product breaks down the fat cell membrane and destroys the fat cells.
If approved, ATX-101 could be the answer for patients that want a minimally invasive alternative to chin liposuction.
